Price Error Index (Oct 6–13, 2026)
Every week, Paydirt's monitors and curated deal-board relays fire hundreds of alerts that look like pricing mistakes. This page counts them: which retailers slipped, how deep the discounts ran, and which days and hours the errors showed up. It is built from the same 24-hour-delayed archive as our price errors this week list, and it publishes counts and percentages only — never a price, a profit figure or a dollar total.
In short: The Paydirt Price Error Index counts the price-error and Strike alerts Paydirt posted to members each week: 11 during Oct 6–13, 2026. It publishes counts and percentages only, from the same 24-hour-delayed archive as the price errors list; members get the alerts live in Paydirt's Discord, and joining is free during launch.

Which retailers slipped
Alerts by retailer for Oct 6–13, 2026. "Other" is every smaller merchant our monitors and relays cover (electronics makers' own stores, regional chains, marketplaces). Amazon alerts are counted here but their discounts are withheld everywhere on this site.

When price errors appear
Alerts by weekday and hour, Eastern time. Darker cells had more alerts. This week the busiest day was Sun and the busiest hour was 1a ET — one week is a small sample, so treat a single spike as a story, not a schedule.

How the index is built
The index reads every alert the fleet posted in the seven days before the 24-hour public delay — the same window as our deal hubs. An alert counts when the pipeline filed it as a price error or rated it Strike. Volume, the retailer table and the heatmap use every matching alert. The discount statistics use only rows that survive the curation rules behind our weekly roundups: a named product, a believable reference price, and no resale estimate larger than the discount. Amazon rows never contribute a percentage.
What the index does not measure yet: how long each error lasted, and whether retailers shipped or cancelled the orders. Both need member follow-ups we are still building, and we would rather publish fewer numbers than guessed ones. The source mix is printed above so the share caught by relays of other publishers' posts is never hidden.

This page is a week old by design. Members get each price error the minute a monitor catches it, with the price math and a cancel-risk rating, in the Discord channels they opt into.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a price error in this index?
Every alert our fleet filed as a price error, plus every alert rated Strike (Strike is Paydirt's top alert tier; our roundups print its full rule). It counts alerts, not confirmed retailer mistakes — some were real sales, and some were cancelled after checkout.
Why are Amazon discounts left out of the percentages?
Paydirt does not publish Amazon prices or discounts outside Amazon's own pages. Amazon alerts still count toward the weekly volume, the retailer table and the heatmap, because the fact that an alert fired is not a price.
Why is the discount median lower than the '90% off' errors people talk about?
Because most price errors are ordinary: a wrong reference price, a coupon that stacks when it should not, a regional markdown that went national. The famous 90%-off glitches are rare, and anything whose reference price looked inflated is removed by the same curation rules our deal hubs use before it reaches this table.
Do retailers honor price errors?
Sometimes. Retailers' terms usually let them cancel orders placed at a mistaken price, and many do. This index does not yet track which orders shipped; treat every error as a chance, not a promise, and never buy more than you can afford to have cancelled.
Can I use this data in an article?
Yes — please cite "Paydirt Price Error Index" and link https://paydirt.gg/price-error-index/. Counts refresh with each weekly build. For questions about the method, email support@paydirt.gg.
Who publishes the Price Error Index?
Paydirt, a deal-alert Discord community. The index is rebuilt each week from the alerts its monitors and curated deal-board relays posted to members, published 24 hours late as counts and percentages only.
Counts describe alerts Paydirt posted, not confirmed retailer mistakes or member purchases. Prices change and orders can be cancelled; nothing here is a promise of savings or income.
